HTI Group is currently in the process of preparing a development proposal for a ten-storey residential and commercial building on vacant land at the south west corner of Northbourne and Macarthur Avenues in Turner. The site is located in front of the existing Mantra MacArthur Hotel and recently built Edgeworth Apartments.
The proposed building is to include ground level commercial space, potentially allowing for a range of small-scale retail, hospitality and/or office-type uses. Above the commercial space, the proposal includes nine levels of apartments. The proposal also includes two levels of basement car parking, and on-site residential amenities. The building is proposed to be approximately 32 metres tall to accommodate the proposed mixed-use development.
The proposal also requires changes to the site’s Crown Lease, to support the inclusion of apartments (as a residential use) in the building. This proposal seeks the approval for the third and final development proposed for the precinct, responding to the existing Mantra Macarthur Hotel, and the recently constructed Edgeworth Apartments.
